That’s not clickbait — The Bottom Dollar Bounties update for GTA online has brought us dispatch work. We can now fight on the side of justice by recovering evidence, disarming bombs, and confiscating drugs. All while shooting bad guys in the face with our trusty Assault shotgun, of course.
Still, I’ve been playing GTA for almost 30 years, and I never thought I’d see the day that we worked for the other side.
It’s a wild change from what’s come before, but to be honest we should have seen it coming since the Cluckin’ Bell Farm Raid mission came to be. It seems like Rockstar may be experimenting with the other side of the law, and what might this mean for GTA 6?
There has been some speculation about, since some of the folks from the popular FiveM roleplay mod are working with Rockstar now. Might that mean that we’ll get more RP elements from the next entry?
This is only speculation at this point, but you can’t deny that Rockstar has taken quite a turn in the recent updates. We went from drug lords, to gun runners, to chop shop owners; all proper illegitimate businesses. Now we’re doing bail bonds and police work? I never thought I’d see the day.
You do need to own a police cruiser to access the dispatch mission, however. So if you haven’t forked over 4-5 million for the police cruiser yet, it may be time. There are also three new police cruisers that players can own — check out all the new cars in the Bottom Dollar Bounties update for GTA Online.
I also wrote a comprehensive guide to the dispatch missions in GTA Online. Check it out for more info.
