Look, buying jewelry in GTA V is… underwhelming. The options are pretty limited, so I’ll try to cover it briefly here. If you’re wondering where to buy jewelry in GTA Online, that’s in a separate article. Head over there unless you need to know how to buy jewelry in GTA 5.
Where to buy Jewelry in GTA V
There’s only one shop that sells jewelry to the player in GTA 5, and that’s Ponsobys. There’s one in Morningwood (haha, I get it!), near Michael’s house; there’s one in Rockford Hills, near the LS Customs and hairdresser; and there’s one in Burton, behind the Tivoli cinema and close to the golf course.
Head to any Ponsobys with Franklin — that’s right, only with Franklin — and go to the second pedestal stand on your right as you enter the shop. Here you’ll be able to purchase a new set of stud earrings. I told you it was underwhelming.
From what I can tell, the most expensive pair costs a measly GTA$5250, which pales in comparison to some of the things you can buy online. Also, as a person who doesn’t wear earrings at all, studs are studs, right?
Why can’t Michael and Trevor purchase Jewelry?
Yeah, Michael and Trevor can’t buy any jewelry at all. Not even a watch! I think that’s a bit silly. I’d like to kit Michael out with a sleek silver watch to match his classy suit. But sorry, Michael, no luck.
Maybe it’s a personal choice for Michael. Perhaps he just doesn’t like Jewelry and thinks it’s too “gangster” (yeah, wearing a watch is too “gangster” for the guy that took on Merryweather and won.)
Trevor is another situation altogether. Half the time he doesn’t even think to put pants on, so I totally get his position on jewelry. I mean, have you seen his trailer? He’d probably lose his watch on the first day of owning it, never mind chains and other jewelry.
Why your jewelry options are limited in GTA V
I have another theory. Perhaps the developers of GTA V were just far too busy getting the online version of the game ready to go alongside the single-player experience to add too much customization options for characters in-game.
I get that it may have been a choice to disallow Trevor from buying any jewelry, but Michael? He strikes me as someone who would definitely wear a watch to the studio.
At any rate, let’s hope that our GTA VI single-player characters have more customization options, maybe something similar to San Andreas? That’d be nice, Rockstar.
