Best language to play Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

You have some options when it comes to the voice over

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty takes place during the Three Kingdoms time period of Chinese history. During this period, China was ruled by three different dynastic states, all vying for control of the other states’ land. This is one of the more unique settings for a game in recent memory, and  Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty delivers a terrific story based on this time period’s history and mythology. With the game being set in China, though, some players are wondering if they should be playing Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty with the English or Chinese language active.

Naturally, the game’s main language will be set to whatever players have set on their system. For example, if you have your Steam account set to English, then the default language in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will be English. If you leave this be when starting the game, then the voice over in the game will be English.

However, some players are curious if this really is the best way to play.

Before we go into more detail, if you want the simplest experience, then you should be playing Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty in whatever your native language is. This will allow you to understand everything properly, giving you an immersive experience.

With that out of the way, though, if you want to be even more immersed in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, we recommend using the Chinese voice over option. You can enable this option in the Audio section of the game, and it makes it so that every character in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty speaks in the native Chinese language.

Some players, especially those who are fond of history, might find it jarring to be playing as a Chinese character who speaks fluent English in 200 AD. If you are one of those players, then using the Chinese voice over will offer an experience that allows you to immerse yourself in the world that the developers have created. You might feel like you’re actually in the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history.

Of course, this is all personal preference. If you want a normal playthrough of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, then play the game in your native tongue. However, those who want a more immersive playthrough could consider using the Chinese voice over.
