Can you change the difficulty level in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty?

It's Dark Souls and Elden Ring all over again

Following in the footsteps of games such as Nioh and Bloodborne, fans can expect Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty to be a grueling experience. The combat will be easy to learn, but hard to master, and the enemies will hit like trucks, even at the beginning of the game. As you unlock more weapons, items, and abilities, the game will become easier, but not by much. Any player not familiar with this type of game will likely be asking how they can change the difficulty in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty after just a few hours of gameplay.

In the past, these types of games have not featured a difficulty level menu. The developers wholeheartedly believe that players should have to earn their victory in combat. While the road to earning a victory is long and arduous, the feeling of satisfaction from finally getting past a tough boss is the feeling that the developers are ultimately going for.

However, has that sentiment changed in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty?

Unfortunately for any fan hoping they might be able to cheese their way through some boss fights, there is no option to change the difficulty in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. This is a conscious choice by the developers, and it’s one that will never change in all likelihood.

Although, the developers at Team Ninja have made it so players can make it easier on themselves through gameplay. Not only do you get a companion to help you in combat, but there’s also the morality system in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. This morality system has a direct effect on combat; the higher your morality is, the easier the enemies will be to fight. However, if you have a low morality, the enemies will be even tougher.

For fans who want the ultimate challenge, they might want to lower their morality as much as possible. However, a majority of players will likely want a higher morality to make Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty slightly easier.

You can also make the difficulty easier by taking advantage of the respec system in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, which you can read about in a previous guide.
