Out of the dozens of armor sets in Elden Ring, there are some that stand out from the rest. Sets like the Snow Witch’s armor immediately come to mind, but there are also some lesser-known sets that can last a player their entire run. The Preceptor’s armor is one such set, and players can acquire it relatively easily in Elden Ring. This is solely reliant on whether or not players have participated in a specific questline, though.
That questline is for Ranni the Witch, who appears at various spots across the map. Her main location is at Ranni and Renna’s Rise at Three Sisters in northwest Liurnia. This location has three different towers, all of which are important to Ranni’s questline. If you’re looking for the Preceptor’s armor set, though, you’ll need to fully complete Ranni’s questline in Elden Ring.
Getting the Preceptor’s armor set in Elden Ring
Completing Ranni’s questline is no small feat. You need to defeat Starscourge Radahn, visit both eternal cities, Nokron and Nokstella, and slay multiple bosses. We’ve gone over how to complete Ranni’s questline in previous articles. However, the main steps are completing the eternal cities, along with Carian Study Hall, and then returning to Ranni to give her the Dark Moon Ring.
Once this ring is given to Ranni, the questline is considered complete. You can now travel back to Ranni’s Rise and even defeat Blaidd to earn his armor set. If you want the Preceptor’s armor set, though, you want to head southeast and find Seluvis’s Rise. This tower is usually blocked off, but after completing Ranni’s questline, it won’t be locked anymore.
Inside, you will see the dead body of Seluvis and an item laying on him. If you loot his corpse, you’ll earn his Bell Bearing along with the Preceptor’s armor set. You can also head back outside to loot the Black Wolf Mask.
