If you have been looking to upgrade your healing potion to a Strong Healing Potion at the Alchemist in Diablo 4, then you have likely needed to find Paletongue. This disgusting crafting material is said to only be found “in the mouths of evil humans,” which doesn’t give players a great idea of where to start looking for it.
Like most other magic crafting materials in Diablo 4, Paletongue can be found naturally by simply playing through the main story. Eventually, a boss or other monster will drop a Paletongue for you to pick up.
If you want to find Paletongue and find it fast, then you will need some guaranteed drops for it. In the guide below, I’ll go over the best ways to find and farm Paletongue in Diablo 4.
Getting Paletongue in Diablo 4
The easiest farming method I found for Paletongue takes place in the region of Dry Steppes. On the very western side of this region, you will find a rare enemy by the name of Alumn. Alumn is a demon that drops one Paletongue, Demon’s Heart, and Grave Dust upon its death.
If you kill the enemy, then leave the area by fast traveling and return to its location, Alumn will spawn again, allowing you to repeat the process over. Within just 20 minutes, you should have enough Paletongue to either upgrade your healing potion or craft a certain elixir.
In addition to Alumn, I found that going through the region of Scosglen was the best natural source for Paletongue. There are hundreds of cultists in this region, and they qualify as evil humans, meaning they have a chance to drop the material. Of course, it’s still a rare chance for this to happen, so don’t take killing cultists as a guaranteed way to loot Paletongue.
Of course, if you find another boss that also drops Paletongue, you can follow the same farming method with that boss. Fight them, pick up their loot, fast travel away, and then return to find the boss respawned. You can repeat the process and hopefully, you’ll eventually find enough of the resource to satisfy your needs.
Once you have enough Paletongue for your needs, you can head to the Alchemist, craft your new potion or elixir, and be on your way in Diablo 4.
