How to find and catch Mammorest Cryst in Palworld

Mammorest is one of the first Pals you’ll encounter in Palworld, as they’re seen roaming around the starting area at around level 35. While you might think Mammorest doesn’t have any siblings in Palworld, there’s actually another variation of it, called Mammorest Cryst.

Mammorest Cryst is an Ice-type version of the mammoth Pal and it’s not discovered until far later in the game. I think the cryst version is actually stronger than the base Mammorest, as the Ice-type is the one element that can deal super-effective damage against dragons.

Finding Mammorest Cryst in Palworld and how to catch it

As you might expect, Mammorest Cryst only spawns in a frigid, Ice-type environment in Palworld. More specifically, you can only find Mammorest Cryst in the Astral Mountains region of the map. This biome is located at the northern point of your map and is home to some extremely high-level Pals. I only recommend coming here if you have proper ice resistant armor and are at least level 38-40.

Mammorest Cryst spawns both in the day and nighttime, so it doesn’t matter when you go out searching for it. You can see its exact spawn points in the map screenshot below:

When you stumble upon a Mammorest Cryst, you need an Ultra Sphere to have the best chance at capturing it. While a Hyper Sphere will also do, your capture rates won’t be nearly as high.

Since Mammorest Cryst is an Ice-type, you want to use Fire-type attacks to whittle its HP down until it’s low enough to start throwing spheres. With any luck, you’ll capture Mammorest Cryst quickly and you can choose to add it to your party or your base.
