After first showing the game during Minecraft Live in March, Mojang and Microsoft have locked in a hard release date for the sequel to their surprisingly sticky action-RPG, alongside a fresh reveal trailer. It’s set for September 29, 2026.
Co-op and deeper buildcrafting
The sequel again supports drop-in co-op for up to four players, with Mojang promising tougher challenges than the original. To keep up, players get a wide spread of weapons, armor, artifacts, talismans, and legendary gear. Early looks suggest four armor slots, three hotkey-bindable artifact slots, and three talisman slots, plus a unique Tornado Blade that can be upgraded at a new vendor, the Enchantsmith.
Pre-orders and bonuses
Pre-ordering nets two bonus hero skins, a Twisted cape, and a Twisted chicken pet, as detailed in Mojang’s official date announcement. The first game grew into a genuinely satisfying loot grind once its gear and builds opened up, and with deeper slot systems and a dedicated enchanting vendor, the sequel looks built to hit that point faster come September 29.
