Weapon and spacesuit modding can be extremely rewarding in Starfield. Not only do you get to completely customize your weapons and gear, but also get to tailor-make those items exactly how you want them to perform. Before you can fully get into modding in Starfield, though, you need to ensure you have enough of the right materials, including Adhesive.
Adhesive is one of the most common resources you will need when modding your weapons, in addition to completing research projects and crafting items at your Outpost. Since Adhesive can’t be mined like minerals, however, it can be difficult to know exactly where to find it in the Settled Systems. If you’ve been trying to locate Adhesive to no avail in Starfield, check out the guide below.
Getting Adhesive in Starfield

The easiest way to acquire Adhesive is to purchase it from a vendor in a major city across the Settled Systems. For the most part, every general trader will carry a decent amount of Adhesive in the “Resources” tab of their inventory. You can also buy it for very little credits, so you won’t go bankrupt going to every vendor and buying up their Adhesive stock.
Here are some of the best vendors I found that have Adhesive readily available in Starfield:
- Jemison Mercantile (New Atlantis)
- Shepherd’s Goods (Akila City)
- Newill’s Goods (Neon)
- UC Distribution (New Atlantis)
- Any Trade Authority store
- Zuri’s General Store (The Key)
In addition to those vendors, you can also find Adhesive by looting random creatures and plants on planets. While this is not the recommended way to acquire Adhesive, you should still look at any plants you come across while traversing a planet and loot a creature’s body after killing them. There is a small chance Adhesive pops up in the loot window, but as I previously mentioned, you can buy a ton of Adhesive for cheap at vendors.

As such, I suggest you stock up on Adhesive through vendors and you should be all set for your future modding or crafting in Starfield.
