Respawn confirms Crypto won’t receive next Apex Legends Heirloom Set

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Heirloom Sets are easily the most discussed cosmetic item in Apex Legends. They’re the rarest cosmetic in the game and one of the only items you can’t buy with Apex Coins. Instead, players need to be lucky and pull a set of Heirloom Shards from an Apex Pack. As it currently stands, six legends possess an Heirloom: Wraith, Mirage, Lifeline, Pathfinder, Octane, and Bloodhound. However, more characters join this list with every season. Most in the community thought Crypto would be the next addition, but a Respawn developer confirms it will be another legend.

Crypto not receiving next Apex Legends Heirloom

Many in the community believed Crypto would own the next Heirloom Set simply because of how under-utilized he is in Apex Legends. In the past, Respawn has seemingly tried to give Heirlooms to legends that don’t see much action. For example, Mirage received the last set with the Lost Treasure event.

In terms of the least-used characters, Crypto is certainly on the list and perhaps leading the pack. His abilities just aren’t strong enough to be useful in either unranked or ranked playlists. However, if Respawn released an Heirloom for him, players might want to select him a little more often.

That won’t happen just yet, though. According to Respawn developer Jason McCord, Crypto is not next-in-line for an Apex Legends Heirloom.

So, if McCord’s words hold any weight, which they do, Respawn already has designs in the works for the next two legends’ Heirlooms. Unfortunately for Crypto fans, this doesn’t sound like it includes the drone-wielding legend.

McCord also expects that every legend in the game will eventually receive a set, though. So, it might take a while, but everyone’s main legend will receive a set sooner or later.
