With the arrival of the Holo-Day Bash event, everyone’s favorite robot Legend has finally received his long-awaited Heirloom set. The Heirloom pack for Pathfinder was leaked a while back, but now all players have the opportunity to earn the item. For Pathfinder’s Heirloom, Apex Legends decided to give him a set of boxing gloves with robotic faces that match the screen on his chest. However, it doesn’t look like the Heirloom set will stick around for long. And in order to earn the boxing gloves, players need to unlock all 24 Holo-Day Bash cosmetics.
Pathfinder’s Heirloom will cost players
While the other Legends’ Heirloom sets were only available in Apex Packs, Pathfinder’s is a bit more complicated. To unlock the boxing gloves, you must complete the Holo-Day Bash collection. This collection consists of 24 unique Holo-Day Bash cosmetic items.
There are a couple of ways to earn Holo-Day Bash cosmetics. The first of these involves using Crafting Metals and unlocking each cosmetic item. However, each item is either Legendary or Epic, so it will cost thousands and thousands of Crafting Metals to do so.
So, while some hardcore players might have enough metals, this isn’t the easiest route. The simplest way of earning all 24 cosmetics from the collection? Buying Holo-Day Bash packs. For around $150, you can purchase 24 packs and unlock the Pathfinder Heirloom.
This, obviously, isn’t going over too well with the community. Sure, you aren’t forced to buy the packs and unlock Pathfinder’s Heirloom set. However, many feel there should be a route to earn packs through play-time. The community senses another one of EA’s greedy business practices in the works, and they’re not exactly thrilled about it. Just check Reddit if you want to see players’ opinions.
It’s unknown if Respawn will make a change to this aspect of the Holo-Day Bash in Apex Legends. However, it doesn’t appear likely.
