Dead Island 2 is one of the biggest game releases in April 2023, launching on the 21st of the month. As fans of the franchise know, the sequel to the original Dead Island has been a work in progress for nearly a decade. The original game was released in 2011 and the developers soon started working on the sequel a couple of years after that.
While fans have waited a long time to get back into the zombie-killing franchise, the wait will soon be over. However, there is a certain section of the community that is wondering whether they will be able to experience the fun on April 21.
That section of the community is Xbox Game Pass subscribers, and they’re curious if Dead Island 2 will be a launch title for them.
Dead Island 2 coming to Xbox Game Pass
While the developers of the game nor Xbox have said anything official, there are currently no plans for Dead Island 2 to arrive on Xbox Game Pass. This includes both at launch and in the future. It also includes those using a regular Xbox console, PC, or the Cloud to run Game Pass.
So if you rely on Game Pass to play all of the recent releases, you will have to find another way to play the second game in the Dead Island series. While Dead Island 2 could eventually see a release on Game Pass, it does not appear likely at this time. For those who want to play Dead Island 2, it will be available on PC through the Epic Games Store (timed exclusive), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.
Dead Island 2 officially arrives on April 21 and will cost $60 if you’re on PC or an old-gen console, but $70 if you’re on a current-gen console.
