Season 4 of Apex Legends features a wide array of tools to increase your movement around the World’s Edge map. From the train to the ziplines, you’ll rarely find yourself simply running from one area to the other. However, these times do occur and it’s not nearly as rewarding to hold the sprint key for minutes on end. So, why not get across the map in style and wall jump from location to location? Here’s one way of doing this in Apex Legends Season 4.
Wall jumping in Apex Legends
If you’re a fan of the Titanfall games, then this mechanic should feel familiar to you. While Apex Legends‘ version isn’t nearly as robust, wall jumping is still a viable way of traversing the map and getting out of sticky engagements.
If you’re learning how to wall jump, the first thing you want to do is head into the Firing Range in Apex Legends. While the Firing Range can also be useful for improving your aim, it can be utilized in more ways than one.
Once you’re in the range, find a wall that isn’t obstructed by anything. Look further north, beyond the targets, for some good options. Next, start sprinting at the wall, then slide and jump once you’re close enough to the wall. While in mid-air, let go of your forward button and jump again as soon as you hit the wall’s surface.
It will take some practice, as you need to understand the timing correctly. However, it shouldn’t take too long for you to start wall jumping consistently. You can watch this video by YouTuber Mokey to see the visuals of wall jumping.
This mechanic can be used for flying over the enemy’s heads during a gunfight or for simple navigation of the map. If you see a blank wall and you’re running towards it, wall jumping off will give you some momentum, allowing you to move faster in Apex Legends.
