How to upgrade the Energy Cell battery in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Make the Energy Cell last longer

Perhaps the most innovative new feature in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the Ultrahand. This device allows players to create vehicles, bridges, and other useful objects to aid them in their journey across Hyrule. Of course, since the Ultrahand is a machine, it will need to be charged if players want to take advantage of it. Players are able to upgrade the Ultrahand’s Energy Cell battery by using specific items found in Tears of the Kingdom.

The only way to upgrade the battery for the Ultrahand in Tears of the Kingdom is to use Crystalized Charges. You will need 100 of them to fully upgrade the Energy Cell. To make Crystalized Charges, you need to break down Zonaite Ore into Zonai Charges. You can obtain Zonaite Ore in the Depths by defeating enemies.

Once you have enough ore, you can go to a Forge Construct and then put in as much Zonaite Ore as you have in your inventory. This will result in you receiving the same number of Crystalized Charges in return. With your new Crystalized Charges, you can take those to a Crystal Refinery and hand the charges to the NPC that’s running the refinery.

In return, you will receive an Energy Well, which can then be used to upgrade the capacity of your Energy Cell battery. You can find a Crystal Refinery right near Lookout Landing, but they’re all over the map. As for the Forge Construct, we used the one that is near Sky Island, but once again, you can find them spread across Hyrule.

And that does it for upgrading your Energy Cell Battery in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. For more Zelda, you can also read our previous guides on finding the Abandoned Hebra Mine and making a fan out of a Korok Frond.
