How to skip the main story campaign in Diablo 4

Blow right past Lilith

Diablo 4 is a game that gives players the complete freedom to play it how they want. If you want an easier experience, then you can stick with World Tier 1 and blow through the campaign using your favorite class. Or, you can opt for a totally brutal playthrough on Hardcore mode, where if you die, your character is permanently deleted.

To add to that, players can actually skip the main story altogether in Diablo 4 — but only if they meet a large, single requirement.

The campaign in Diablo 4 is one of the series’ best, as Lilith is a memorable villain and takes you on a path that you can’t come back from. There is triumph, tragedy, and everything in between during the story missions of Diablo 4. You’ll travel through harsh tundras, blazing hot deserts, sand storms, swamps, and yes, Hell too.

However, if you simply want to skip all of that and get right to the endgame of Diablo 4, there is a way for you to do so.

The only way you are able to skip the entire story of Diablo 4 is to beat with a single character on your account. By completing the story with one character on your account, you gain the ability to skip the story with all subsequent characters after that. So if you really want to use two classes in the endgame of Diablo 4, you only have to beat the story with one of them. Then, your new build can head right into the endgame, giving you two options.

It’s unclear exactly how this will work, as I was not able to test out the skipping method with another character during my early access time with Diablo 4. However, I assume that your new character will be set to a certain level and you will be able to spend that amount of skill points to get your build where you want it.

As for gear, I would assume that you will need to find gear just as you would with any new character. Your Aspects are account-bound, though, so whichever ones you unlocked with previous characters will transfer over.
