How to get the Imperio Unforgivable Curse spell in Hogwarts Legacy

Take enemies under your control

In the regular Wizarding World, using any one of the three Unforgivable Curses earns you a one-way trip straight to Azkaban prison. However, in Hogwarts Legacy, you’re free to use the curses as you see fit.

There is no morality system in the game either, so you can use the curses as much as your heart desires with virtually no consequences. Unfortunately for those who want to whet their appetite for dealing out curses, you don’t get access to the three Unforgivable Curses until the late game.

Today, we’ll be going over how to acquire the Imperius Unforgivable Curse. Known as the Imperio spell in Hogwarts Legacy, this curse allows you to take control of your enemies for an extended period of time. As long as you have an enemy trapped with the Imperio spell, they will remain under your control. It’s certainly a powerful spell, but you’ll need to do some work before you can add it to your spell repertoire.

The only way to unlock Imperio is by going through Sebastian’s quest line. Sebastian is a Slytherin student that you meet fairly on, and he has a number of quests in Hogwarts Legacy. The one you’re looking to complete is called “In the Shadows of Time.” This quest involves players returning to Sebastian’s childhood town to find an ancient relic in an underground tomb.

After players have completed this side quest, they will have the option of learning the Imperius Curse. Sebastian is the one to teach it to you, so simply accept his offer and you will automatically know the Imperio spell. Keep completing quests in Sebastian’s line to unlock the other two Unforgivable Curses, Avada Kedavra and Crucio.
