In the Resident Evil 4 Remake, a majority of the weapons that you acquire will come from the Merchant’s shop. The Merchant has a plethora of weapons available for sale, most of them appearing in the shop after you have completed a certain mission or chapter. However, there are some weapons that won’t be accessible through the Merchant. One of those weapons is the CQBR assault rifle, which is a fantastic weapon in the Resident Evil 4 Remake.
The CQBR is your traditional assault rifle that can deal damage in any situation you might find yourself in. However, the game won’t give it to you for free, so you’ll have to venture out and find it for yourself. Luckily, we know exactly where you can find the CQBR assault rifle in the Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Getting the CQBR Assault Rifle in Resident Evil 4 Remake
The process of getting the CQBR requires you to use both Leon and Ashley. You can find the assault rifle in the Castle Library, which is an area that opens up after you get to the Grand Hall. The Grand Hall requires you to complete two different puzzles, both of which you need to complete to gain access to the CQBR. The second of these puzzles will see Ashley enter the library using the new keys she just picked up, which is eventually where you will find the CQBR.
After the second puzzle has been completed, you will switch back to Leon from Ashley. While the game wants you to head to the ballroom, you will need to head to the Castle Library, which you just visited as Ashley. In the library, you want to head up to the second floor and find a container on the wall that has a square box in the middle of it. When you find the box, use your Cubic Device to unlock it. You can do this by rotating the device so that all of the sides line up with each other.
When the container is unlocked, the CQBR will pop out, allowing you to pick it up. You can now equip the CQBR assault rifle in the Resident Evil 4 Remake and use it either in semi-auto or fully-auto firing modes. The default gun will not have a scope on it, so you’ll have to rely on its iron sights until you can visit the Merchant and upgrade the rifle.
