How to get out of the Carok Bridge Well in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

A tough obstacle to overcome

Whether it was intentional on your part or you needed to as a part of a quest, you might find yourself stuck in the Carok Bridge Well in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The wells are just like the ones you would find in real life; they are long, stone tubes that go down several yards into the ground. Their main purpose is to bring water back up to the surface or provide easy access to an underground area. However, once players go down a well, there is almost no way to come back up.

Many players might find themselves in this sticky situation by accident, as the wells are sometimes difficult to see if you’re just traversing the land on foot. There is also a quest in Tears of the Kingdom that requires you to escape from the Carok Bridge Well. In any case, if you find yourself stuck in a well, there is one primary way of getting out. I will explain exactly how you can use this mechanic in Tears of the Kingdom to get yourself out of the well and back to exploring Hyrule.

Getting out of a Carok Bridge Well in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

For starters, there is a single quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom that requires players to get out of the Carok Bridge Well. In this instance, you can use Link’s Fuse ability to attach different items together to make a ladder. You can then use this ladder to climb your way out of the well.

However, the items to make a ladder will not always be around. If you find yourself in a barren well, the only way you can get out is by using Link’s Ascend ability. This ability is given to you extremely early on after completing a Shrine. With it, you can simply glide through the air and easily head back to the surface.

You can equip the ability from your abilities menu, and then press “A” to activate it. To stop ascending, simply press “B.” And there you have it, the easiest way to get out of the Carok Bridge Well or any other well in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
