How to get Medium Pal Souls in Palworld

Level up your Pals quickly

Pal Souls are primarily used for one sole purpose in Palworld: upgrading Pals at the Statue of Power. You can only use Small Pal Souls to initially upgrade a Pal’s HP, attack, defense, or work speed, but then you need a Medium Pal Soul to keep on upgrading.

Medium Pal Souls are much harder to come by in Palworld, as they’re only found in a couple of different ways. However, if you want to ensure your Pals are as strong as they can be, you need to learn the ways of farming them. In the guide below, I’ll explain all of the possible ways to find Medium Pal Souls in Palworld.

Finding Medium Pal Souls in Palworld

First and foremost, Medium Pal Souls look almost identical to Small Pal Souls out in the world. When you pick one up and look at it in your inventory, though, the Medium Pal Soul is purple instead of blue and has a blue color in its icon’s background.

The main way you’ll find most of your Medium Pal Souls is through simply finding them on the ground. All three kinds of Pal Souls can be picked up right off the ground across the map. They’re gray in color and look like tiny, transparent stones. Anytime I head out and explore the map, I always tend to keep an eye on the ground in case any Pal Souls are waiting to be looted.

You have a better chance of finding Medium Pal Souls on the ground in the more dangerous areas of the map. Locations such as the Astral Mountains to the north, the desert to the northeast, and the volcano region to the west are the best spots to loot Medium Pal Souls.

In addition to that, you can also get Medium Pal Souls as drops from a specific Pal, and that’s Helzephyr. I recently went over where to find and catch Helzephyr in a previous guide, but you can only find these Dark-type birds at nighttime. Whether you catch or kill them, they have a good chance to drop a Medium Pal Soul or two.

And those are the two main ways you can go about getting Medium Pal Souls in Palworld. Your odds aren’t great no matter what method you use, but as long as you explore the map and farm Helzephyrs, you should have a solid stock to upgrade your Pals at a Statue of Power.
