How to get Charms and the best ones to use in Resident Evil 4 Remake

A new addition to Resident Evil 4

There are a plethora of changes that Capcom has introduced in the remake of Resident Evil 4 Remake. One of the more prevalent changes that players will notice right away is the addition of Charms, which can drastically improve your character. While they don’t alter the gameplay in hugely impactful ways, they do cut down on some of the grind and make your life simpler overall.

If you want to find out when you get access to Charms and which are the best ones to use in the Resident Evil 4 Remake, keep reading the guide below.

Getting Charms in the Resident Evil 4 Remake

In the Resident Evil 4 Remake, Charms are only acquired by purchasing them with tokens. In order to get tokens, you need to play the shooting range game at the Merchant’s shop. This shooting range game has you blasting away cut-outs of pirates and shipmen. Your objective is to shoot as many of the cut-outs as possible in the time allowed. The more accurate you are in taking down the cut-outs will result in your acquiring more tokens.

Once you have yourself a fair amount of tokens, you can use them at the Merchant’s gumball machines, which are located directly near the shooting range. Using the gumball machine will result in a random Charm being spat out. To see what Charm you acquired, go into your inventory. Each turn at the gumball machine costs three tokens, so that’s the price for one Charm. Although, it might take more tries to get the specific Charm you want.

The best Charms in the Resident Evil 4 Remake

Speaking of Charms you might want, here are three Charms that you should try and go for:

  • Leader Zealot – 10% health recovery increase with Green Herbs
  • Merchant – 5% cost reduction in weapon upgrades
  • Don Esteban – 15% chance to receive extra shotgun shells when crafting

There are 30 Charms in total in the Resident Evil 4 Remake and they all feature some sort of different bonus and reward. These won’t be huge bonuses, but they’re enough to impact your playthrough. Each of the Charms is named after a character or item from the original game, so your preferences might skew toward one Charm depending who or what it is modeled after.
