The Dead Space Remake has been well-received upon its release; veterans of the game are returning to the classic horror game, and many players are stepping aboard the USG Ishimura for the first time. Despite being a general success amongst critics and fans, the Dead Space Remake is not without its flaws. It’s very likely that every player will encounter at least one or two bugs during their time with the game. However, perhaps the most annoying issue to run into in the Dead Space Remake is the “Can’t Sprint” bug.
This bug has appeared for a large chunk of players and basically doesn’t allow players to sprint when playing as Isaac. This is quite problematic, as running from aliens is half of the game. Luckily, there’s an easy fix to get past the sprint bug in the Dead Space Remake.
Fixing the Dead Space Remake sprint bug
You’ll know you have run into this infamous bug if you’re trying to sprint and the game simply won’t let you. If this happens to you, then you want to pause the game and head into the Control Customization screen. This is found in the Controller Layout tab within the settings.
Once at this screen, you need to press the “Clear” option, which is found at the bottom-right of the screen. Doing this will completely reset all of your custom keybinds, but it will restore your ability to sprint. Simply go back in and change whatever controls you originally altered, head back into the game, and you should be able to fully sprint again. If it didn’t work for you, then attempt to restart your game and try the process again.
Hopefully, the developers will fix this issue in a future patch. However, for now, players will have to do this workaround every time they encounter this sprint bug.
