The House of the Enlightened is a religious faction in Starfield that you can’t technically join. However, you can be a part of the religion by selecting the “Raised Enlightened” trait during the character creator at the beginning of the game. This trait allows you to access a special chest in the House of the Enlightened building in Starfield.
You can only see and access this chest if you chose the Raised Enlightened trait, so don’t go looking for it if you didn’t pick the trait. For those that did, you will naturally wonder where the chest is so you can grab some early game loot for your journey in Starfield. Below, I will lay out exactly how to find the House of the Enlightened Chest.
Finding the House of the Enlightened Chest in Starfield
For starters, you can actually loot the chest from the second you step foot in New Atlantis at the start of the game. In New Atlantis, you need to head to The Well district, which can be accessed via an elevator. I recommend going from the landing bay at the spaceport and going straight until you see Jemison Mercantile. From here, go past the store to the right and you will see an alleyway. On the left side of the alley, there will be an elevator entrance, which you can enter and then go down to The Well by pressing the blue control panel inside the elevator.
In The Well, you’re looking for the House of the Enlightened building. If you took the elevator near Jemison Mercantile, head straight and then the building will be immediately on your left. Go down the stairs right below the “House of the Enlightened” sign on the building to enter a room with a man behind a desk. Go past the desk and down the stairs to enter another room. On the left wall of this room is where you will find the yellow House of the Enlightened Chest.
You will find the following items inside the chest:
- Charity in a Godless Universe Part I
- Charity in a Godless Universe Part II
- Charity in a Godless Universe Part III
- Charity in a Godless Universe Part IV
- Drink Pack: Water
- Inclement Weather Outfit
- Med Pack x4
The items inside the chest aren’t too useful, but the four Med Packs will definitely come in handy in Starfield.
