How to find Metal Scraps in Enshrouded

A highly important resource in Embervale

There are few resources more important during the early game of Enshrouded than Metal Scraps. They are used in several crucial crafting recipes and you’ll want to ensure you know how and where to find them across the map.

Metal Scraps aren’t the most common resource you can find in Embervale, but you have likely picked one up on your travels and wondered where exactly you got it from. There are a couple of different ways to go about getting Metal Scraps in Enshrouded, both of which are explained in my guide below.

The most common way of finding Metal Scraps is to search chests or abandoned workbenches out in the world. More often than not, a chest in a run-down settlement or even in the Ancient Vaults will hold one or two Metal Scraps you can loot. However, you might need a lockpick or two to open some chests that contain Metal Scraps, so make sure you craft some of those using the Blacksmith back at your base.

The other way to find Metal Scraps is to defeat scavenger enemies and loot their bodies. This is the best way I found to loot Metal Scraps, as there are far more enemies in Enshrouded than there are chests. Unfortunately, not every enemy you defeat will have Metal Scraps on them, so there’s a bit of RNG involved with this method and the previous one.

My recommendation is to go out searching for abandoned settlements so you can try and loot chests. This will undoubtedly lead to you finding enemies to kill as well, meaning you can knock out two birds with one stone. I also suggest going to as many Ancient Vaults as possible in the early game, as those areas hold chests and enemies.

You will need a Grappling Hook to access some of those vaults, though, so check out my previous guide on how to craft that in Enshrouded.
