There are several early game weapons that you will gain access to in Sons of the Forest. From the starting axe to the pistol and shotgun, your inventory will soon be full of useful weapons that can take on any mutant out in the world. However, there are certain weapons that can be more difficult to craft than others, and the bow and arrow is one of those weapons. The bow and arrow be crafted extremely early in Sons of the Forest, but players will need to know exactly what to do.
One of the advantages of the bow and arrow is that you can take out enemies from afar, both on the ground and in the trees. It’s also useful that you can go and pick up any arrows that you shot at an enemy’s body in Sons of the Forest. This makes it much simpler to keep exploring the world rather than having to go back and craft more ammunition.
In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how to craft both a bow and arrows in Sons of the Forest.
Crafting a bow in Sons of the Forest
In order to craft a bow in Sons of the Forest, you will need to unlock its recipe. This is done by finding every single material you need to craft the weapon. The recipe for a bow is:
- Duct Tape
- Sticks
- Rope
These resources themselves aren’t difficult to find whatsoever. You will find sticks everywhere around trees and rope and duct tape are located right near where you spawn in. Once you have all of those resources, go into your inventory and combine them to make the bow.
Crafting arrows in Sons of the Forest
Now that you have your bow, you will need some ammunition for it in the form of arrows. Once again, you need the right crafting recipe for arrows. The earliest kind of arrow you can craft is the stone arrow, which has the following recipe:
- Sticks
- Feathers
- Stones
Again, these resources are found extremely early and easily. Feathers can be looted by killing birds while stones are found in abundance just like sticks. With all of these resources, combine them in your inventory and you will create a set of arrows. As previously mentioned, you can loot arrows that you’ve shot, but if you ever run out, simply craft more and you will have immediate access to them with your bow.
