Baldur’s Gate 3 is similar to Dungeons & Dragons in the sense that it’s more fun with friends in your campaign. You can join up with friends to create a party that completes quests and explores dungeons together. But how many friends can you bring with you?
Companions are a big part of Baldur’s Gate 3. You can bring a variety of characters with you that have a lot of different abilities and benefits. They also have their own storylines and quests that you can complete while they are with you. With so many possibilities, it’s hard to choose just one companion to bring with you.
How many companions can you bring with you in Baldur’s Gate 3?
You can have no more than four players in an active party. This includes your character.
There are six permanent companions and four temporary companions in Baldur’s Gate 3 so you will have to switch them out at one point or another. You can also hire up to three hirelings to come along with you, who don’t count as part of the main four. Summoned units and recruits also don’t count towards the OG party size.
It may be a bit frustrating to not be able to bring everyone with you at all times, but having four in your party is the perfect size to complete quests and take on balanced battles. You’ll have to choose companions that fit each quest, bringing along the right character if you need to disarm traps or fight tough bad guys.
