God of War: Ragnarok was huge at least year’s The Game Awards, coming out as The Game of the Year among other titles. It’s safe to say that it’s one of the most popular games of the past few years so fans were blown away when a leak pointed at a possible sequel already.

Before The Game Awards, a leak showed footage from God of War that appeared to be either some sort of half sequel or DLC. The timing aligned with the award show so it was definitely believable but fans were not sure what the nature of the content was until now.

At The Game Awards, we finally saw a trailer that confirmed that DLC was coming. And very soon.

What is the God of War: Ragnarok DLC?

The sneak peak of the God of War DLC didn’t reveal a lot of details regarding the DLC. From the gameplay we saw, it looks like a rogue-like game featuring never-before-seen enemies and baddies.

Called Valhalla, the DLC plot is described as: “Kratos is on a warparth through Valhalla in this free update for GoW Ragnarok.”

When is God of War: Ragnarok: Valhalla coming out?

It was originally believed that the leaked content would be released in late 2024. But fans will be delighted to learn that the DLC will be available on December 12, 2023. This is just a few days away. Even better, it’s completely free to download.
