The Apex Legends Evolution Collection event kicked off on Tuesday, bringing a ton of updates to the game, including a new take on Arenas, event-exclusive cosmetics for several champions and plenty more. Here’s the complete breakdown on what changes the Evolution Collection event brings to Apex.
Apex Legends Evolution Collection event-exclusive skins
Wraith, Octane, Pathfinder, Fuse, Bangalore, Rampart and Lifeline all got new cosmetics for this event, giving “a glimpse into what our Legends could become with time and technology on their side.” Most of these skins seem fairly futuristic or robot-inspired, and each is customized for its respective champion.
Rampart takes the spotlight
Mod-happy champion Rampart is taking center stage for this event with special mod offerings in Arenas, a new Heirloom and something special in World’s End — the mod shop of her dreams.
The shop, called Big Maude, is also an enormous tank and can be found between World’s Edge’s Lava City and the Geyser. Like other new areas in Apex, this one has lore elements to keep a lookout for. This area is apparently also large enough to accommodate several teams vying for position, and it even has a paintball range out in front where the fighting can spill into.
Investigating this shop is worthwhile, because it’s here players can use collected materials to buy Rampart’s Custom Modded Paintball Weapons from the newly-added Vend-It machines there. These weapons aren’t cheap, but they come fully kitted at different tiers, making them a solid option for the mid-game if weapons aren’t as upgraded at that point.
In addition to her shop near Lava City, Rampart has also worked her way into Arenas. Here, she’s offering modded weapons at special discounted prices. These versions replace their base counterparts during matches. Note that this makes lower tier versions of the original weapons unavailable. Rampart switches up her deals regularly, so be sure to check in often.
Finally, Problem Solver is the brand new Heirloom pipe wrench Rampart is getting for this event as a reward for all her hard work in the Arena’s shop. It even includes a gumball dispenser as the bottom of the handle, for easy access.
Other changes in the Apex Legends Evolution Collection Event
Apex’s latest event update is also bringing several balance changes to the game. Revenant, Rampart, Octane and Bloodhound are all receiving changes to their mechanics, though Rampart’s is the most notable. This update allows Rampart to run around while Sheila, her support bot, is out, along with other changes to how the bot operates.
Additionally, several weapons, including two of the compound bows, are changing with this update. For full details on these and other quality of life changes packed in with the Apex Legends Evolution Collection Event, check out the patch notes.
