The latest engagement between fans has to do with controller players having an advantage over PC players. This has been a hot debate for some time, but it’s recently come to a head thanks to some streamers making a few public comments. Today, we’ll be going over those comments and diving deeper into the controller vs. PC debate.

Controller vs. PC in Apex Legends

Since Apex Legends is available as a free-to-play title on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, there are a ton of controller users. Some on PC even plug in a PS4 or Xbox controller to have the best of both worlds.

The argument of controller vs. PC really began when players started to realize the recoil on controller isn’t as bad as PC. For example, a PS4 or Xbox One player has much less recoil with the R-99 submachine gun than a mouse and keyboard player.

While this sounds like a clear advantage, we have to remember the trade-off Apex‘s controller players face. A controller is limited in many ways, but it’s really noticeable when trying to loot or perform any action with any quickness. Daltoosh, a popular streamer for SoaR Gaming, recently explained these disadvantages in more depth. This was followed up today by Team Liquid player Lucas “Mendo” HÃ¥kansson, demonstrating the divisiveness in the community.

Daltoosh is well-known for being a PS4 controller player in Apex Legends. As such, his success in-game and as a streamer has been called into question. Players see his deadshot accuracy on stream and immediately chalk it up to controller advantage.

However, as stated, controllers face a ton of disadvantages as well. PC players are able to loot, move, and aim much faster than PS4 or Xbox One players. All in all, there appears to be a slight advantage to PC players, but shooting is certainly easier with controllers.
