Professional Apex Legends player Coby “dizzy” Meadows has retired from competitive play and left NRG. The streamer is citing some personal challenges as well as a desire to improve his content for his departure from competitive Apex and the team. Expect his stream to resume on a daily basis, starting tomorrow December 11. He will still be playing Apex Legends, but this decision gives him some freedom to pursue other interests.

NRG will need to find a replacement for dizzy on their competitive team, but it will be difficult to acquire someone with that much talent. Here’s a look at their current Apex Legends roster:

  • Brandon “Ace” Winn
  • Marshall “Mohr” Mohr
  • Richard “KingRichard” Nelson (Substitute)

Dizzy moves on from competitive Apex Legends

Back when Apex Legends first released in February of 2019, there was one player who took the community by storm, and that was dizzy. Looking like he could be the “Ninja” of Apex Legends, dizzy garnered a huge following just weeks into the game’s life cycle.

Before Apex took off, dizzy wasn’t a very known player in esports. He’d competed on a few different titles, but he never found a solid foothold until Apex. At the start, he dominated public matches as Wraith, being one of the first players to reach 10,000 kills with one Legend.

When Twitch Rivals and Code Red started to branch out to Apex Legends, dizzy dominated those tournaments as well. Quickly, NRG signed the young phenom, taking a chance on both him and the game. The NRG team was one of the top rosters in the world, winning multiple events including TwitchCon San Diego.

However, dizzy now feels that his time is best spent focusing on content. As mentioned, he will still be streaming and playing Apex Legends. But without having to practice every day, he can be more relaxed and deliver better quality content to his audience.
