There’s a point in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty where you need to make a choice between Reed or Songbird. If you choose to help Songbird escape during the Neural Matrix quest, then you will have to leave the stadium and fight off waves of enemies to do so. At the end of the fighting, Songbird will get into a car and tells you she will call with news about your next steps sometime soon.
This prompts a new quest, called The Killing Moon, to appear that has the objective “Wait for news from Songbird.”
When does Songbird call with news in Cyberpunk 2077?
If you’re like me, then you waited patiently while completing side quests and roaming around Dogtown, anticipating a call from Songbird at any minute. However, as more time goes on, Songbird still doesn’t call, which can lead some players to think they might have encountered a bug or did something wrong.
Don’t worry, though, you didn’t do anything wrong and it’s not a bug. For whatever reason, it takes an inordinate amount of time for Songbird to call you with the next steps of the Phantom Liberty quest line. I can’t offer an estimation of how much time you will have to wait, but I can say that I got my call after completing several bits of side content.
I also skipped time several times to see if waiting a few days would prompt the call. This didn’t seem to work, as I got my call from Songbird right after delivering a vehicle to El Capitan.
I had to complete two different Gigs and deliver three vehicles to El Capitan before getting a call from Songbird, which took roughly two hours. I can’t say for sure that’s how long it will take her to call you, but it does appear you will have to wait quite sometime before you’re able to progress the Phantom Liberty quest line.
Once you do eventually receive news from Songbird, you can head to a new location and it will be one of the last quests in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.
