The official announcement for Apex Legends Season 7 has arrived. Named “Ascension,” this season looks to be the biggest one Respawn Entertainment has delivered yet in terms of new content. Before that though, we saw the debut of Horizon in the new Stories from the Outlands edition. In the video, a little bit of Horizon’s back story was shown off as well as some hints toward Season 7’s content. Of course, all of that content was confirmed in an official blog post by EA shortly after the debut. The blog post details the new map Olympus, Trident vehicle, and much more.
Apex Legends Season 7: Ascension content revealed
Nearly a century ago, Dr. Mary Somers was hired to solve a cataclysmic energy crisis. Her search for answers would take her to the edge of the universe. Before Mary left Olympus, she promised her son she’d return. But was it a promise she’d be able to keep? pic.twitter.com/6JbzHLVqcf

It appears Horizon is the catalyst for Season 7 after all. In the Stories from the Outlands video, we can see her arrive on the Olympus map through a black hole. This is all in an effort to keep a promise she made to her son before leaving on her adventure.
As such, Apex Legends will be traveling to Olympus for the newest installment. This has been rumored for some time and it’s finally coming to fruition with Ascension. The official description for Olympus is, “Ascend to a beautiful, lush city in the clouds. Just watch your step — it’s a long way down to the planet below.”
Along with the new map, Horizon was, of course, officially revealed as the season’s poster legend. Her character description reads, “A brilliant astrophysicist who escaped a black hole and aims to use her newfound mastery of gravity to keep a promise.” Her abilities were previously datamined, which you can read about in our previous article.
Finally, we got confirmation that vehicles are arriving in Apex Legends. The Trident appears to be a hover vehicle of some kind that can zoom around the big map of Olympus. It’s been stated that an entire squad of three can fit in one Trident.
Aside from that, it was revealed that a new Battle Pass and Ranked Series are coming with Season 7 on November 4. Also, the Steam version is arriving as are Clubs, a community-like feature that can take your friendship with other players to the next level.
You can download Apex Legends Season 7: Ascension when it arrives on November 4. Until then, keep up with Daily Esports for all Apex Legends news.
