Apex Legends Reveal – 5 Things You Could Be Doing While You Wait

Respawn Entertainment is getting ready to announce their latest game: a free-to-play title called Apex Legends. There’s a stream going, but while it started at 8AM PST/11AM EST, it’s little more than static images with a few action moments in between. According to Respawn CEO Vince Zampalla, it will be at 12AM PST/3PM EST that actual details are revealed to accompany the images. You can check out the stream below, but if you’re bored, here’s a few other things you could be doing while you wait out a 4 hour stream of silence.

Play A Minimum Of Four League of Legends Matches

Apex Legends League of Legends
At 20-60 minutes per match, you could get a lot done in League of Legends while you wait on Apex Legends.

League of Legends’ latest season has started and that means there’s opportunity to do all sorts of new things in Ranked and Unranked. New champion Sylas is a really interesting character to learn and now is the time to enter your placements and see where you’ll sit on the climb through Ranked queue. A standard PVP match in League of Legends takes about 20 minutes at least and 60 minutes at the most, meaning you could probably knock out a minimum of 4 matches while you wait to get at Apex Legends’ juicy details. Bot matches (PVE) will likely take even less time. Why not climb the ranks or polish your skills for a bit? Even if you’re not interested in playing, you could check out a couple matches of the NA LCS or European LEC videos-on-demand going on right now.

Play 32 Average-Length Rocket League Matches

Apex Legends Rocket League
4 hours of static stream leaves a lot of room for Rocket League matches. Sneak in some rocket car footie while you wait.

Maybe some RC footie is the thing to pass your time as you wait for Apex Legends? Rocket League is as good as ever with the new season of Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) fast approaching. You can get your own game on and go on a scoring spree or maybe watch some of what the pros are doing right now. Either way, a typical Rocket League match takes around 7 to 8 minutes. If every match you played or watched was 7 minutes and 30 seconds, you’d be able to fit in about 32 matches before getting back to the Apex Legends. Have a ball while you’re waiting out the static.

Collect, Assemble, & Lab A New Hearthstone Deck

Apex Legends Hearthstone
We’re not saying you could build and test a whole Hearthstone deck while you wait on the Apex Legends reveal, but you could at least get a head start.

Hearthstone deck assembly is maybe one of the more interesting aspects of the entire game. Building a new class deck from the bottom up, seeing how the card synergies work, and putting together a consistent strategy may take a bit longer than 4 hours to accomplish, but at least if you got started, you’d be well on your way by the time details for Apex Legends drop. Not to mention, we have plenty of templates for you to work from. From our own creative guides for Wild such as Reno Priest and Odd Rogue, to pro decks being used in competition such as the HCT Winter Playoffs Americas, you’ll have a lot of help in studying what you need to create your own success in Hearthstone while waiting on Apex Legends.

Learn The New Characters In Dragon Ball FighterZ Season 2

Apex Legends Dragon Ball FighterZ
With Videl and Jiren kicking off Season 2 in Dragon Ball FighterZ, the down time for Apex Legends is a good time to learn the new characters.

Season 2 of Dragon Ball FighterZ has launched and with it comes new characters Jiren and Videl (w/ The Great Saiyaman!). If you’re into DBFZ, it’s a good time to start learning what those characters can do! 4 hours is more than enough time to get through both characters’ tutorials and training missions, so you can at least grasp their basics. Even so, if you have time after that, maybe start assembling a new team with them! There are pros out there like Dominique “SonicFox” McLean showing us what the new characters can do when paired properly. Maybe take a peak and start to put your own super combos together while you wait for the Apex Legends reveal?

Speedrun An Entire Resident Evil 2 Remake Playthrough

Apex Legends Resident Evil 2 Remake
The time set for the Apex Legends reveal gives you just enough of a window to nail an S-Rank playthrough in Standard or Hardcore modes of Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Resident Evil 2 Remake is really good, but are you good enough to beat it before the Apex Legends reveal takes off? This one has to do with the game’s coveted S-Ranks which will award you with some amazing goodies like infinite ammo weapons. In order to S-Rank your Resident Evil 2 Remake playthrough on standard, you must complete Scenario A games in under 3 hours and 30 minutes. For Scenario B, you must do it in just 3 hours. For Hardcore difficulty, you have to do it in 2 hours and 30 minutes for Scenario A and 2 hours for Scenario B. That means the wait for the Apex Legends stream leaves seasoned RE2 players just enough time to get their S-Rank playthrough done if they’re going to do it all in one sitting. Whether you do it on Standard or Hardcore, you’ll score some awesome goodies for pulling it off, and then you can jump right into the Apex Legends reveal.

Funny enough, maybe you read this article in the time it took for the Apex Legends reveal to go live. Whether you were gaming, reading, or watching, hopefully our little list helped! What did you do to pass the time while you waited? Let us know in the comments!
