At long last, Respawn Entertainment has released the official gameplay trailer for Apex Legends Season 6. Last week, we saw the cinematic trailer that confirmed the arrival of Rampart, the Volt submachine gun, and more. However, today we got to see those new additions in action along with other pieces of content. Rampart’s abilities were shown off, the Battle Pass was slightly revealed, and the Volt was seen firing. Let’s go over everything that the trailer showcased and what it means for Season 6 of Apex Legends.
The gameplay additions in Season 6
Naturally, the biggest aspect the trailer revealed was the new gameplay elements. While we already knew of Rampart and her abilities, we finally got to see them in all of their glory.
As seen in the trailer, there’s a lot going on when it comes to Season 6. The World’s Edge map looks heavily revamped, with new areas and some other locations like Mirage Voyage, taken off the map. We also got to see Rampart running and gunning across World’s Edge with her light machine gun “Sheila.”
It appears that Sheila will play a big part in Rampart’s cosmetic arsenal. There appears to be a couple of kill animations that use the turret as the centerpiece. However, we also got a look at other legends using the turret, which means that Rampart won’t be the only one who can take advantage of her abilities.
Later on in the trailer, Respawn showcased the new Crafting system and the Volt SMG. Crafting appears to be done on a large computer-like structure, and players can interact with it in order to receive weapons, ammo, and more. One of those weapons was the Volt, which is an energy-based SMG.
Apex Legends Season 6 Battle Pass
As with all other gameplay trailers, this one briefly showed the new Battle Pass. There were quick flashes of some of the skins that are available within the pass. This includes new cosmetics for the Spitfire, Havoc, Devotion, and Triple Take. Also, it appears that Octane, Pathfinder, Mirage, and Bangalore all have new character skins coming.
The full Battle Pass won’t be revealed until Season 6 of Apex Legends goes live on August 18. Stay tuned to Daily Esports for all updates on the new season.
