Apex Legends Easter egg (or bug?) allows you to go into third-person

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

After the big Dec. 3 update, the Apex Legends community has found a number of Easter eggs. Most of them can be located in the newly revamped firing range, which has recently allowed for player vs. player action. So far, the biggest one we’ve seen is a multi-step Easter egg that, once completed, makes the A.I. training bots come to life. The steps to discover this Easter egg were convoluted and took the community days to figure out. However, it appears there could be another major firing range Easter egg that was just recently discovered — that introduces a third-person perspective.

Bug or Easter egg?

Since the firing range A.I. Easter egg became public, fans have been attempting to find even more. One of the developers at Respawn even put in a Star Wars Easter egg, which was found just hours later. While not as complicated as the firing range Easter egg, it’s a neat discovery nonetheless.

Yesterday, however, one fan found something that could merely be a bug or an actual Easter egg the developers put into Apex Legends. Regardless, you can see the full clip of the discovery below or on Twitter. Full credit goes to @Rein_yk for first finding the Easter egg.

So there’s this new easter egg… (credit goes to @Rein_yk on Twitter) from apexlegends

The steps to finding this secret seem to revolve around rapidly switching between Legends in a specific spot. There don’t appear to be any concrete steps to completing this, which makes the community wonder if this is an Easter egg or a bug.

Either way, seeing Apex Legends in third-person brings a whole new perspective to the game. At least for the user in the video, Apex seemed to run fine when going into third-person. Maybe in the future, Respawn could do what PUBG has done and give players the option to choose between first- and third-person.
