Apex Legends community designs multiple new Heirloom melee weapons

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

The community that supports Apex Legends is one of the strongest in all of gaming. While the members might complain occasionally, most of the time the conversations remain civil. And the community is also quite talented. We’ve seen a number of fan concepts that are creative enough to maybe be featured in Apex Legends one day. However, a recent string of Heirloom melee weapon designs may be the community’s best work yet. Let’s take a look at the concepts.

Heirloom fan concepts for Apex Legends

The melee weapons in Heirloom sets are what everyone is after. There’s no way to directly purchase the sets, which makes them that much rarer. It’s this rarity that inspires the kind of designs that we’re about to display.

Concepts for Heirloom sets are often showcased on the Apex Legends subreddit. However, many lack details, featuring only the idea for a melee weapon or complete set. The ones below, though, do not match this description. Here are four of the best concepts from the Apex Legends subreddit.

Mirage’s Bat

Mirage Heirloom concept art (by me) from apexlegends

Unlike some of the others on this list, the above concept features both a melee weapon and a character banner. For the weapon, we have a baseball bat with “You got Bamboozled” written on the side. Of course, this is Mirage’s signature catchphrase in Apex Legends. This particular design was created by Reddit user PotulnaCmaralka.

Caustic’s Poison Knuckles

I just couldn’t wait for Caustic’s heirloom, so I designed one myself. from apexlegends

Many fans are speculating that Caustic could be next in line to receive an Heirloom set. If that’s the case, then the Apex community would certainly love to see this design by Reddit user Newbie_Juneon. The take on the brass knuckles is amazing, with Caustic’s infamous poison seeping through the individually designed skulls.

Wattson’s Electric Whip

Here’s the Wattson heirloom you asked me to design. What’s next? from apexlegends

Another design by Newbie_Juneon brings us a shockingly great concept for Wattson. It looks like the standard melee weapon is an electrical spear of some kind, but when interacted with, it becomes a whip. Once again, the minute details implemented by this Reddit user are outstanding.

Revenant’s Scythe

Revenant one handed scythe/sickle heirloom from apexlegends

While Revenant might not receive an Heirloom set for some time, that doesn’t stop the community from creating designs. In this concept by user Abakedpotato79, Revenant’s murderous side is put on full display. The scythe perfectly matches the robotic killer’s personality, and we’d love to see this make its way to Apex Legends in the future.
