As with previous seasons, Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment has made big changes to the weapons and equipment that are available as you fight your way through the map. Here are all the loot changes coming to Season 12.

Several weapons will no longer be ground loot in Apex Legends Season 12 and will instead only be attainable via different means. Most notably, the Volt SMG will be replacing the Alternator SMG in neutral care packages. To compensate, the Volt’s damage will be increased from 15 to 17 per bullet and the maximum mag size will be increased from 28 to 30. The other care package weapons — G7 Scout, Spitfire and Kraber – remain unchanged.

The VK-47 Flatline and Longbow DMR are also leaving the ground and will be put into permanent crafting rotation. They will both be craftable for 30 materials and can no longer be found on the ground. Crafting these weapons comes with no attachments and two boxes of ammo. Respawn developers have specified that this change is due to the steady addition of new weapons over the seasons, as they want to avoid loot oversaturation.

Hop-Ups are powerful weapon attachments that make weapons stronger and more flexible. A new Hop-Up called the Kinetic Feeder has been added to Apex Legends Season 12. This will be compatible with the Triple Take and Peacekeeper, which both have built-in Precision Chokes. With the Kinectic Feeder, sliding will significantly speed up the choke time on the Triple Take or Peacekeeper as well as automatically reload rounds.

Additionally, an old Hop-Up will make its grand return to the game. The Hammerpoint Rounds, which were removed in Season 9, will return in Season 12. Previously, they were only compatible with the P2020 and Mozambique. In Season 12, however, Hammerpoint Rounds will be compatible with both those guns and the RE-45.

Hammerpoint Rounds increase the amount of damage that a gun does to unshielded health. The damage multipliers are:

  • P2020: +50% unshielded damage
  • Mozambique: +35% unshielded damage
  • RE-45: +35% unshielded damage
