Albralelie leaves TSM and professional Apex Legends to pursue Valorant

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Another FPS professional has left their scene to pursue Riot Games’ Valorant. This time, it’s TSM member Mac “Albralelie” Kenzie Beckwith who, late last night, revealed his intentions to retire from Apex Legends. While Valorant certainly had a ton to do with this decision, Albralelie revealed there was a little more to it than that. He cited an “anxiety” when it comes to the future of professional Apex Legends. According to the 20-year old, he didn’t want to stay on a sinking ship and jump off before it was too late.

Albralelie retires from Apex Legends for Valorant

If you’re a fan of Albralelie, then you might have seen this decision coming. He’s been noticeably upset on stream when playing the battle royale and complained about the game’s state a bunch over the past few weeks.

Recently, the streamer has been playing Valorant live on broadcast more and more. This seems to have been a bit of foreshadowing for his decision to leave Apex Legends. However, he also appears to be leaving TSM, as the organization already houses a Valorant roster. In his Twitlonger, Albralelie thanked TSM for all they’ve done for him.

“To my org, thank you for giving an absolute nobody who had nothing a chance to shine,” he tweeted. “I’m so thankful to have been given this opportunity that forever changed my life.”

In regards to why Albralelie made this decision, it appears it has to do more with the state of Apex rather than the possibilities in Valorant. The former TSM member said this about the future of Apex Legends.

I am far too anxious about the future of Apex to feel comfortable staying in the scene. I’ve voiced my opinions on this on stream a few times about how Apex feels like a sinking ship to me and well, its time for me to get off before I sink with it.

For now, it looks like Albralelie will continue to stream Valorant and try to find a roster to join.
