Apex Legends Horizon dialogue fix

Apex Legends devs know Horizon’s dialogue is annoying

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

After a Reddit thread spiraled from a meme about Horizon‘s repetitive dialogue, the devs took notice. The thread currently has nearly 7,000 upvotes and over 200 comments. If the mods didn’t lock the original post, then it most likely would have had far more comments. Developer “RV-GameplayChris” responded to the post, explaining that they are quite aware of Horizon’s dialogue issues in Apex Legends, and a fix is in the works.

“A fix is incoming for this,” he wrote. “We agree! While we love Horizons [sic] dialog and reaction to her passive. It’s much less relevant to her squad mates.”

The Horizon meme that started it all

Nobody in gaming enjoys repetitive lines of dialogue. We all still remember the pain from the “took an arrow to the knee” dialogue, yes? You couldn’t throw a stone in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim without hitting a former adventurer who took an arrow to the knee.

While it’s fun that each Legend has their own unique quips and dialogue, no one on a team wants to hear one teammate’s lines spouted over and over. Most likely, the player using Horizon gets just as frustrated and annoyed.

Horizon evidently not the only one with annoying dialogue

One commenter in this thread, however, mentioned that Horizon’s repetitive dialogue about soft landings wasn’t as annoying as Lifeline’s lines about finding supplies.

“As a Lifeline main… I don’t think it’s worse than the extra supplies voice line,” they wrote.

Repliers gave this one comment a life of its own. Other Redditors mentioned the overuse of other Legends’ passive dialogue lines. Perhaps Respawn Entertainment needs to examine how often specific lines are used throughout all of the game’s Legends?

Are there any dialogue lines from Apex Legends that you find to be repetitive and annoying? Let us know in the comments!
