Cyberpunk 2077: How to create and change outfits

Always have the right outfit for an occasion

In the 2.0 Update for Cyberpunk 2077, you are able to take advantage of a full transmog system. This basically means you can have your character wear a certain set of clothes and equipment permanently, even if you change certain pieces of gear around to give your character better stats. In Cyberpunk 2077, this is done through the outfits system, which you can change at any time you want.

Outfits are entire clothing sets that you can design for your character. Once you have an ensemble that you like, you can save that outfit and equip it. This will make your character permanently wear the clothes you set for that particular outfit until you change to another outfit. As previously mentioned, you can swap clothes in your inventory all you want, but the aesthetics of your outfit will remain the same.

If you want to take advantage of this system in Cyberpunk 2077, check out the guide below.

How to create and change outfits in Cyberpunk 2077

There is only one way to create an outfit in Cyberpunk 2077. This is done through the Wardrobe, which you can primarily find at your apartment but they are also spread out at different locations across Night City. By accessing your wardrobe, you can click on a new numbered box to design an outfit from the ground up. This allows you to select what clothes you want to wear and, after saving the outfit, will let you change to that preset outfit anytime you want.

You can change into an outfit at a Wardrobe but you can also do it through your inventory. First, you can open up your inventory, and then select the “Outfits” box on the right side of the screen. On this screen, you can click on any of the numbered boxes to immediately change into that outfit.

Keep in mind, though, you can still switch clothes in your inventory. If you want to equip a new head piece because it offers a stat boost, you can do that. However, as long as you have a certain outfit selected, your clothing will not change until you switch outfits. This allows you to keep a certain look you want but also gives you the chance to equip the best statistical clothing items from your inventory.

The system works very well overall, as it offers complete freedom to customize how your character looks and performs without compromising on anything else in Cyberpunk 2077.
