Ansur’s Lair is a challenging location to both find and explore in Baldur’s Gate 3. After players work their way through finding the entrance to it, they will need to complete four separate trials in order to open the door to actually find Ansur the Dragon. One of those trials is the Chamber of Courage, and it can be a little confusing to figure out in BG3.
Compared to the other trials, such as the Chamber of Justice, the Chamber of Courage isn’t all that difficult. However, I was extremely confused when I first did it, as the game tells you very little about what you need to accomplish to complete it. So, to help out anyone who is struggling like I was, I’m going to fully explain how you can complete the Chamber of Courage in BG3.
Passing the Chamber of Courage in BG3
When you enter the Chamber of Courage, you can speak to the statue of Balduran and it will give you a brief rundown of what the trial will entail. After this happens, the trial will begin, which starts out with two enemies popping up. There will also be a timer in the far-right corner of your screen that tells you how many turns are left in the trial.

Personally, I was confused about how that timer related to the enemies that pop up during the trial. Every turn, new enemies will appear, and I thought I needed to kill every single enemy before the timer expired to pass the Chamber of Courage.
Luckily, that’s not the case. Instead, all you need to do is survive until the timer runs out. You could technically not kill a single enemy as long as you survive the duration of the timer. Once the timer expires, the enemies will disappear, and you will have completed the Chamber of Courage in BG3. You can now move on to finishing the rest of Ansur’s Lair and find Ansur itself.
