The Lower City of Baldur’s Gate 3 is jam-packed with interesting characters and locations, but few are more mysterious than Mystic Carrion at Philgrave’s Mansion. Speaking to Mystic Carrion here will reveal that he has an assistant, Thrumbo, who has gone missing, and tasks you with bringing him back.
You can start this quest from Carrion in one of two ways. The first way is by simply traveling to the mansion in Act 3 and speaking to the mystic. After some squabbling, he will offer you the chance to prove yourself. However, you can also start this quest during the Free the Artist quest, which requires you to help Oskar Fevras and Lady Jannath.
Either way, you will need to find Thrumbo for Mystic Carrion before you can complete either quest.
The location of Thrumbo in Baldur’s Gate 3
Luckily, Thrumbo is not located too far from his previous employer’s place of business. While Mystic Carrion recommends you speak to Thrumbo’s other zombie friends that escaped with him, you don’t need to do that to find him and progress the quest.

You are able to find Thrumbo in a small house directly east of Philgrave’s Mansion, as seen in the screenshot below.
Thrumbo is located in the wardrobe inside the tiny house marked on the map. Opening the wardrobe will make Thrumbo come out and you can speak to him.
From here, you have a couple of options. You can force Thrumbo to return to Mystic Carrion or hear him talk about why his former master needs to die. Either way, this will progress both Mystic Carrion and Oskar’s quests in Baldur’s Gate 3.
