The best Signal 50 loadout for Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play

A powerhouse of a sniper rifle

Sniping has become one of the most popular ways to play Search and Destroy in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play. Whether it’s because fans see someone like Brandon “Dashy” Otell sniping people in the Call of Duty League or they just happen to be proficient at sniping, you’ll see a sniper or two in almost every Ranked game of S&D. If you fall into this crowd or want to simply get better at sniping, you’ll need the right weapon. While a majority of players have been using the SP-X 80 or MPCR 300, the Signal 50 has a decent enough loadout in Ranked to also warrant consideration.

The Signal 50 received some surprise usage in the Call of Duty League towards the tail end of the season. Many fans and other pros wanted to see the sniper banned to how strong it was, seeing as it can one-shot any opponent and it’s semi-automatic. Luckily, the gun was not banned and you can still use it today in Ranked Play.

  • Barrel: 21.5″ Fluted Fifty
  • Optic: SP-X 80 Optic (optional)
  • Stock: SO Inline Stock
  • Rear Grip: SA Finesse Grip
  • Ammunition: .50 Cal High Velocity

With the Signal 50, you mainly want mobility attachments, but you also can’t ignore bullet velocity either. I have the SO Inline Stock and SA Finesse Grip equipped to dramatically increase your overall aim down sight speed and sprint-to-fire time, making the Signal 50 much more effective in mid-range.

Those mobility buffs are slightly offset by using the 21.5″ Fluted Fifty barrel, but the added recoil control and bullet velocity are well worth it. The last attachment also buffs bullet velocity, as the .50 Cal High Velocity ammo allows players to always hit their target first.
