Currently, in the Call of Duty League, professional players have been using two different snipers in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the MCPR 300 and SP-X 80.
The sniper a pro picks seems to be based off of personal preference, as both snipers have their strengths and weaknesses. For example, the SP-X 80 is much more mobile, and more aggressive players might find it more enticing. However, the MCPR 300 is a long-range monster of a sniper that plays right into a tactical player’s wheelhouse. Tactical players that want to use the MCPR 300 in the new Ranked Play mode of MW2 will need the sniper’s best loadout.
Ranked Play is a new game mode in Modern Warfare 2 that allows players to follow the official CDL ruleset/mapset. If you happen to draw a Search and Destroy map and you want to snipe, then the MCPR 300’s best set of attachments will be your best friend.
Best MCPR 300 loadout for Ranked Play
Since the MCPR 300 is a heavier sniper rifle, the strongest competitive loadout for it aims to increase overall mobility. While this won’t make the MCPR viable as a quickscoping option, it will allow players to snap onto targets quicker.
- Barrel: 2” OMX-456
- Ammunition: .300 High Velocity
- Magazine: 5 Round Mag
- Rear Grip: Cronen Cheetah
- Stock: FSS Merc
The Cronen Cheetah rear grip and the FSS Merc stock are the two attachments that increase mobility while the 2″ OMX-456 barrel improves damage range and bullet velocity. The .300 High Velocity ammunition also gives the MCPR a boost to bullet velocity as well. We’ve kept the MCPR’s base optic the same since it features a solid zoom and went with the 5 Round Mag instead.
If you’re going to continue playing Ranked Play, you can’t always use a sniper. For any Hardpoint or Control matches, you can check out our best loadouts for the TAQ-56 and Vaznev-9K. You can also look at our X12 loadout if you need a secondary on your sniper class.
