With the massive boom of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel’s release ushering new and old players alike back into the game, esports organization Pittsburgh Knights are getting in on the action by signing a player from the scene. As announced on Monday, PK are picking up content creator Gage “Nyhmnim” Poljak to be one of the first Yu-Gi-Oh! players to join a legitimate esports organization.
The Pittsburgh Knights said in an official press release that the decision to pick up Nyhmnim wasn’t too hard. After all, Nyhmnim is a Pittsburgh native.
“I am extremely excited to sign one of the best talents in Pittsburgh,” said CFO Jonathan Oh. “Our entrance into Yu-Gi-Oh! has been a project a year in the making, and it’s important that we support not only the player, but also the scene as a whole. We’re excited to be one of the first founding esports organizations looking to really make an impact in this game.”
To celebrate the occasion, Nyhmnim released a new vlog revealing his signing as a pro Yu-Gi-Oh! player.
“With the release of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel and the explosion of the collectible cardboard world, all eyes are on the card game I grew up with as a kid,” Nyhmnim said. “It’s extremely exciting. While being a Pittsburgh Knight, I hope to introduce people to my favorite pastime through competitive duels and through binders as we explore its vast collectible history.”

Who is Nyhmnim
Nyhmnim will represent the PK organization both online during Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel streams and tournaments in addition to in-person Yu-Gi-Oh! events. Nyhmnim’s claim to fame in the Yu-Gi-Oh! community is through his YouTube channel, where he has produced quality series that have taken the Yu-Gi-Oh! scene by storm.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Nymnhim created the “Sealed Only Yu-Gi-Oh!” series, where he attempted to reach the highest level of competitive Yu-Gi-Oh! by opening only sealed product. This inspired many fans and content creators themselves to do something similar.
Then, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Nyhmnim and fellow Yu-Gi-Oh! content creator Alex “Cimoooooooo” Cimo created the “Yu-Gi-Oh! Progression Series” in which the two players battle against each other online in a “sealed only” style of play. Each week, they opened a sealed box of a Yu-Gi-Oh! core booster set starting in chronological order. To this day, that series is among the most popular Yu-Gi-Oh! content on YouTube. Nyhmnim is also a skilled vlogger who likes to take fans of his content into his life as a Yu-Gi-Oh! player.
Fans can catch Nyhmnim at Yu-Gi-Oh! events going forward as well as his Twitch stream.
