Apex Legends Kings Canyon Season 4 leaks

Leaks show Kings Canyon may return full-time in Apex Legends Season 4

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

With the Apex Legends Season 4 update, World’s Edge was altered quite severely. From the new Planet Harvester to the dark landscape, many in the community say Season 4’s version is superior to Season 3. However, most would also agree that Kings Canyon plays much better than World’s Edge. There’s a nostalgia factor that comes into play, as well. Fans got a taste of Kings Canyon last season with the Grand Soiree event, though it was only for a few days. But with Season 4, the beloved map could make a full-time return, if leaks are to be believed.

A return to Kings Canyon?

We recently saw leaks emerge concerning the upcoming Valentine’s Day event in Apex Legends. Part of this event is supposedly an LTM that will return players to Kings Canyon, much like what happened in the Grand Soiree event.

However, that will only last for a few days later this month. Come late March, the second split of Ranked Series 3 will feature Kings Canyon exclusively. For now, Respawn has stated that the map will only be available in Ranked play. But this may just be smoke and mirrors, according to leaks. Data-miner @That1MiningGuy has the scoop for us.

The split mentioned here refers to the second split of Ranked Series 3, which is scheduled to arrive on Mar. 24. However, it appears that Apex Legends‘ code hints at Kings Canyon being permanent once the second split arrives in both playlists.

This is great news for fans of the map, but we’re not sure what this will mean for World’s Edge. Could Respawn implement a map rotation or allow players to select which map they want to play? Or will World’s Edge disappear midway through Season 4?
