How to unlock the Premium Battle Pass in Diablo 4

One of the major highlights of the Season 1 update in Diablo 4 is the Battle Pass. This stream of content has 90 tiers for players to work through and features cosmetic-only items. The Battle Pass features a free track, where all players earn rewards, and a Premium track, which is only available to those who pay a price or pre-ordered a certain edition of Diablo 4.

The Premium Battle Pass features over 50 additional tiers for players to earn compared to the free version. It also includes all of the Coldiron Armor set as well as Platinum that you can use to purchase items in the Shop, among other content. If you are trying to unlock the Premium Battle Pass, then you might be struggling to figure out how to do so. In this guide, I will show you exactly what to press to either purchase or redeem your version of the Premium Battle Pass in Diablo 4.

Unlocking the Premium Battle Pass in Diablo 4

It’s important to know if you pre-ordered either the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition of Diablo 4. If you did, then you automatically have access to the Season 1 Premium Battle Pass. Ultimate Edition owners also can choose to use the Accelerated version of the Battle Pass, which speeds up the progression through the tiers. You can wait for another season to use the Accelerated version, though, as Ultimate Edition owners only have one chance to use it.

If you didn’t pre-order those editions, then you have to purchase the Premium Battle Pass. Either way, head into the main menu of Diablo 4 and then go to the “Season” tab. Here, you will see the Battle Pass tiers at the bottom of the screen. Right above that on the left side, you will see an option that says “Premium.” Click it, and you will be sent to a purchase screen if you did not pre-order the special editions.

Those that did pre-order the special editions will automatically unlock the Premium version. Once you’ve clicked the Premium button, your Battle Pass will be upgraded to the new version. If you’re an Ultimate Edition owner, then you will also unlock 20 free tiers of content.
