How to make a farm in LEGO Fortnite

Learn how to grow your own farm, with our guide to Garden Plots, planting seeds, harvesting crops, and more.

If you’ve been playing LEGO Fortnite, you know that the hunger bar at the top left of your screen is hugely important. That’s why having a steady supply of food is critical—that’s where farms come in.

Instead of running around the island, hoping to stumble on some wild pumpkins or raspberries, you can create a farm of your own and have them growing right beside your village.

The process isn’t explained particularly clearly in-game, but if you know what to do, it’s very simple. That’s why I’ve put together this guide to help you become a green-fingered farmer just like me.

How to make a Garden Plot

First off, you need to make a Garden Plot, as this is what seeds grow in. To do this is fairly simple: All you need is two pieces of soil and one fertilizer.

To get soil, simply make a shovel and dig. Anywhere. As long as there is grass underneath you, you will be able to get soil from it.

Fertilizer is a little trickier to get, as animals drop it randomly. Just look for big clumps of sheep, cows, or chickens, and have a look around on the floor. They are pretty easy to spot, as they look just like a bit of poop.

If you’re lazy like me though, just send one of your villagers out to find stuff for you. They should come back with a bunch of soil and fertilizer. Meowscles brought me back 10 of each, saving me a lot of hassle.

How to plant seeds in a Garden Plot

Once you’ve got your Garden Plot, it’s time to place them down. Once you’ve picked your spot and they’re on the ground, walk over to them and press the interact button as shown on your display.

There, you will be taken to a menu, with “Storage” on the right-hand side. This is where you place the seeds of the item that you want to grow. Simply drag them over, and exit the menu.

Your crop will be planted, and all you have to do is wait for it to grow.

How to harvest food from a farm

Harvesting your fully grown crops is easy too. Simply walk over to the item you want to grab and interact with it using the button that appears in the on-screen prompt.

The item will then be added to your inventory, which you can eat to replenish your hunger bars and add hearts to your health.

What crops can you grow on your farm?

So far, I have discovered four different types of seeds:

  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Corn kernel
  • Wheat grain
  • Raspberry seeds

You may choose to grow them all, or just select a few of your preference and grow them. At the minute, I have plots for each of them as I figure out which are the best. Currently, corn seems like the best option for me, as I can grill it to make corn on the cob, which replenishes five hunger bars, and boosts speed and stamina for two minutes.

How to get seeds in LEGO Fortnite

There are two main ways to find seeds in LEGO Fortnite: Finding them, or making them in a Grain Mill.

The easiest way early on is to search the ruins of houses strewn across the map, as they all have chests inside them filled with goodies. I got all my seeds so far this way.

Otherwise, make some granite slabs and build a Grain Mill. Take the food you want seeds for, place it into it, and it’ll spit out the seeds for you to plant.
