How to get Binoculars in Sons of the Forest

Seeing from far away is now trivial

For the first time since its launch, Sons of the Forest has seen a major update go through. While the update provided a number of quality of life fixes, including major bug and stability improvements, most fans are more concerned with the new content that has become available. The highlights of the new content are the Hang Glider and the Binoculars. We have already gone over how to find the Hang Glider in Sons of the Forest, so now it’s time for the Binoculars.

As you probably already guessed, the Binoculars really only serve one purpose for you. They allow you to see faraway objects and locations simply by looking through the lenses. You are able to zoom in on anything in the distance, giving you a better understanding of where you’re going and where you’ve been. However, you likely won’t just stumble across the Binoculars during your time in Sons of the Forest. So, allow us to help you find them.

Getting the Binoculars in Sons of the Forest

Unlike the Hang Glider, there is a set of Binoculars ready for you to claim somewhere on the island. All you have to do is go to the right location, pick up the item, and it will be added to your inventory.

For the Binoculars, you want to head to the northwesternmost tip of the island. Here, you will find a beach with the Binoculars sitting on a red kayak in the middle of the sand. You can see the precise location to go in the map screenshot below.

The beach is located in a small inlet in the northwest section of the map. There will be plenty of abandoned red kayaks here, but one of them has a set of Binoculars on top of it. Interact with the black Binoculars by pressing “E,” and they will be added to your inventory immediately. You can see however far away you want in Sons of the Forest.
