Listen, I’ll make no bones about it, I am a hard taskmaster to my Pals. I expect them to get up and get working, that’s the only reason I let them run around my base. Still, I don’t want to see them miserable, but that can happen in Palworld.

If the game is telling you that one of your Pals is depressed, here’s what you can do to help.

How to tell if your Pal is depressed in Palworld

The first time you’ll notice something is wrong, you’ll see that your Pal will be sleeping constantly, and won’t want to do any work. No matter how much time it spends in bed, it just won’t want to get up and do anything.

If you notice this happening with one of your crew, go back to your base and check their status in the Palbox. It should tell you whether or not it’s suffering from depression, which you then need to address.

How to cure depressed Pals

Unfortunately, there is only one surefire way to cure a depressed Pal, and that is by using High Grade Medical Supplies. This is made at the Medieval Medicine Workbench, and requires five ingots, five horns, and two bones to brew.

If you haven’t unlocked it yet, or don’t have the materials required to make it, you can by it from the Wandering Merchant for 3,000 Gold Coins. They can be found at the 344, 361 coordinates.

Once you have it, simply walk over to the Pal, and press the button to open the menu. Select Feed, and instead of choosing food, select the High Grade Medical Supplies. Once they have consumed it, the Depressed status should be removed from the Pal, and they’ll start acting normally again.

Some players claim that placing them into the Palbox and leaving them there can also work, but having tried it myself, it didn’t seem to remove it. Their Sanity and Health status did improve, but the Depressed status remained. You can try this if you haven’t unlocked the Medieval Medicine Workbench yet, but I wouldn’t bank on it being your answer.
