Just like with the prequel, The Forest, Sons of the Forest supports full cooperative play, allowing friends to join a lobby together and experience the new survival-horror game together. This is one of the larger features available in Sons of the Forest, as it allows players to craft together, go on missions, and discover the mysteries of the island while in a group. Creating a co-op lobby is easy enough, as all you need to do is invite your friends from your Steam account.
However, with full co-op being supported, players have wondered how many of their friends can join their lobby at the same time. After all, you won’t be able to invite dozens of your friends to the same lobby, as that would break the game in more ways than one. Sons of the Forest max player lobby size
In Sons of the Forest, you can play with up to eight people at the same time using the co-op feature. This is just like how the original game, The Forest, worked, so it’s no surprise to see the sequel follow a similar path. If you manage to get eight players in your lobby, then you will all be able to start a game and try to survive the mutant-infested world of Sons of the Forest at the same time.
It should be noted that eight players is including yourself, so you can really have seven of your friends join the lobby. Still, that’s quite a large number and should work for a majority of players.
